ASSOCIATE

Position Description

The Global BioAccess Fund is seeking an associate to join our growing team. The Associate will play an integral role in generating new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence and assisting with portfolio management. A successful candidate will have a strong scientific and/or clinical background and have a good understanding of business principles and market dynamics in the biotech sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support the investment process from sourcing through due diligence and deal closing.

  • Identifying new investment opportunities for the Fund through deal flow review, networking and conference attendance

  • Conducting detailed scientific due diligence including interviews with KOLs, technical experts, potential and existing customers, and partners

  • Perform market and competitive analysis on investment opportunities

  • Assist in the preparation of investment documents and other presentations 

  • Attend investment and medical conferences.

  • Build and maintain relationships for the firm with the broader clinical, academic and biotechnology community.

  • Working alongside the GBF team to help run an effective organization

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirement

  • M.D. or Ph.D. 

  • MBA is a plus

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry is preferred, which may include corporate business development, investment banking, equity research, venture capital, or consulting

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and written communication skills

  • A firm understanding of life sciences, including but not limited to chemistry and biology fundamentals, drug development and human disease

  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently
